Student Newspaper Readership Program
Access to the News at No Cost
As a Penn State student, you have print and digital access to local and national newspapers at no cost. You can pick up a paper in kiosk locations around campus by swiping your Penn State id+ card to open the kiosk.
Participating Publications
- Daily Collegian
- Centre Daily Times (Local paper varies at Commonwealth Campuses)
- New York Times
- USA TODAY
Where Can I find Newspapers?
Newspapers are available Monday—Friday at more than 50 kiosks locations throughout University Park campus during the semester. During the summer, distribution is limited. Visit our digital access page for information on how to access news website and apps.
Commonwealth Campuses
The Student Newspaper Readership Program is also available at most of the Commonwealth Campuses. The available newspapers vary by location.
Our Purpose
We want to help students stay informed on local, national, and global news and to gain a broader perspective inside and outside of classrooms. To achieve this goal, we provide access to physical and digital news sources at no-additional-cost to students.
